Twitter Unveils 'Twitter Media' As A Home For Publishers On Its Platform

Publishers are part of Twitter's bloodstream which helps generate revenue to the platform.

As its effort to get closer to them, Twitter launches 'Twitter Media'. With a dedicated website and the handle @TwitterMedia, Twitter is allowing publishers to learn how to produce contents and make money, and to get the most from its platform.

In the announcement, Twitter's Head of Content Kay Madati explained that Twitter is proud that people turn to its platform "to discover what’s happening in the world". The platform could only do that "in partnership with publishers."

And Twitter Media here, is to allow publishers to lead the conversation on its platform so it can host it.

“Without their coverage and commentary on the latest in news, sports, and entertainment, there wouldn’t be nearly as much worthwhile content for us to read, watch, and Tweet about,” Madati said.

Twitter Media includes:

  1. The best practices from the most successful content publishers across Twitter, curated by Twitter’s news, sports, and entertainment partnerships teams.
  2. The latest information about new products and features designed specifically for content publishers.
  3. An easy-to-navigate help section curating answers to the most common questions we get from content publishers every day.

With Twitter Media, Twitter wants to support publishers with the "publishing tools, best practices, and revenue products that make the time and energy they invest."

This way, Twitter should be more appealing to publishers, especially when bigger platforms like Facebook has disappointed publishers in one or several ways for a few years.

Twitter in seeing this opportunity, said that it will update Twitter Media's contents regularly with multiple case studies and success stories.

"As a platform, it’s our job to support them with publishing tools, best practices and revenue products that make the time and energy they invest in Twitter worthwhile," said Madati
