Every business has a story to tell, but not everyone of them are able to speak out loud.
YouTube is one of the most popular video streaming service. With an increasing number of small business owners that use YouTube, the company wants to get a hold more of them by giving an easier way to create budget video ads.
The tool YouTube is introducing is the Director app.
With Director, YouTube simply wants to turn video ads on its platform easier to create. As more small businesses use YouTube, a DIY way of making one should come useful to them.
The simple reason but the main one, is according to Diya Jolly, Google's director of product management. He said that the biggest struggle smaller businesses face on YouTube is the lack of quality of their videos.
"And today what we see is we have a lot of big brands being able to advertise on video because they have the resources for a video campaign, and while we have SMBs, we see that the quality of the video isn't as high."

Director is a suite of tools that comes in three parts:
First, Google is launching the app to iOS first. The app allows users to shoot their own commercial using a template and step-by-step instructions. Users can also add text and animations.
Second, the app has a feature called YouTube Director onsite that allows users to opt for professional filmmaker to shoot their ads (At its launch, the service is only available Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C.).
Third, the app has an automated ad tool that is able to generate a video based to graphics given to it. This will ease video creation to a margin to businesses that is an app, for example.
YouTube said that the app and its accompanying tools let businesses make video ads "quickly and easily right from their phone" with "no editing experience required."
An example of YouTube Director on the move, according to YouTube, is Woody Lovell Jr., the owner of The Barber Shop Club in Los Angeles. He used the app to shoot and edit the video below:
Lovell Jr. shot and edited a video ad by himself. He then uploaded it to YouTube, to then worked with an AdWords expert to run a campaign. As a result, his business sees an increase of exposure and a lift in brand awareness.
YouTube Director is initially available in the U.S. and Canada only. Google said that it has plans to expand it to other countries.
