Donald Trump Jr. Asked Elon Musk To Create A Social Media To 'Save Free Speech'

Big tech companies, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, and YouTube, have banned Donald Trump.

And not just that, as on the 45th U.S. President faced a second impeachment for his role inciting the rioters to storm the Capitol Building, officials in New York City announced their plans to end the Trump Organization's contracts to operate the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, the Central Park Carousel and the Wollman and Lasker ice skating rinks.

"The attacks on our Capitol killed a police officer, left four rioters dead, exposed lawmakers to Covid-19 and threatened the constitutional transfer of power," the city said in a statement.

"They were a national abomination. We're reviewing whether legal grounds exist in light of these new circumstances to terminate concessions with the Trump Organization."

With days left before the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, Trump that is expected to leave the office sooner than later, is not in the position anyone wants to be put into.

In a move, son Donald Trump Jr. has called for Elon Musk to create a new social network.

“if Elon Musk can privately send people into space I’m sure he can design a social network that isn’t biased. I think there’s a lot of Americans that would love that and support it wholeheartedly,” he said on an Instagram video.

Trump Jr. added that Musk as the world's richest man, could out-do Twitter, and create a social network that takes care of hate speech and calls of violence with “actual neutral arbiters and fact-checkers.”

He asked Musk to do that to “help save free speech.”

Trump Jr. suggested Musk that the new platform should be able to regulate against hate speech or violence, but at the same time capable of providing a platform for neutral commentators and not turn into a “leftist organization” that de-platforms people with conservative thoughts.

“I am not looking for a conservative echo chamber. I want a platform to argue my ideas versus someone else’s and not just people in a place telling me what I want to hear,” Trump Jr. said.

Referring to Elon Musk, Trump Jr said: “This is the guy to do it.

“Elon why don’t you do that. Get out there and come up with a concept. I think you are literally the guy to save free speech in America,” he said.

With Donald Trump running out of options and time, if he wants to address his supporters directly, when his supporters are complaining of "censorship" online, Trump Jr. has a solution he thinks can solve this.

Donald Trump has been banned from several digital platforms. Even Reddit which is better known as "the front page of the internet" where free speech happens more often, is already cracking down on forums that are made specifically for Donald Trump’s supporters

At the same time, "free speech" social media Parler has been removed from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and also Amazon Web Services.

Following these, Donald Trump tried to make some things straight to his fans and America. But since he was banned from various digital platforms, he shared a video via the White House official Twitter account, where he clarifies his position on the violent protests which hit the U.S. Capitol.

“I want to be very clear. I unequivocally condemn the violence that we saw last week," he said.

“Mob violence goes against everything I believe in, and everything our movement stands for. No true supporter of mine could ever endorse political violence.”

Earlier, Musk called out Trump’s social network ban and said a lot of people might not agree to have “West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech.”

However, the billionaire didn't express any intention or interest in building a social network just yet.
