Donald Trump, who is running for president in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, is driven by his desire to return to the presidency after serving from 2017 to 2021. He is maximizing his efforts by leveraging the principle of free speech, including sharing parodies to bolster his campaign.
As with previous campaigns, and those that will follow, candidates often promote themselves while diminishing their rivals.
One example, is when Trump published photos that say Taylor Swift is endorsing him as the upcoming U.S. president.
The former president shared images on his Truth Social, that show young women wearing "Swifties for Trump" t-shirts, as well as Swift herself dressed as Uncle Sam, saying, "I want you to vote for Donald Trump."
"I accept!" Trump said.
But what Trump did here, is sharing AI-generated images to falsely claim that he has Swift's vote.
This is not entirely new, as Swift's endorsement is often highly sought after by leading American figures.
While the photos are fake and Trump should know it too, and that he also expect the public to know it too, the photos show how false information can spread.
And in Trump's case, since he is a presidential candidate, his move sparks outcry.
Kind of ironic, since Trump definitely knows that the images are not the truth, and that he shared it on the Truth Social, a platform he touted as telling the truth.
It's worth noting that at this time, Swift is busy with her tour, and has yet to endorse any candidate in this election.
But in the past, Swift has endorsed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2020 race, and that she was previously been critical of Trump, including for his comments during the Black Lives Matter protests that followed the murder of George Floyd in 2020.
When her publicist Tree Paine warned her about Trump coming after her, and Swift quipped, "I don't care. If I get bad press for saying, 'Don't put a homophobic racist in office,' then I get bad press for that."
It's also worth noting that Trump has previously acknowledgedthat Swift is not a supporter, so he may have "accepted" the satire endorsement as a tongue-in-cheek, or to just referring to accepting support from any Swift fans that may want to support him.
Another AI-made image Trump shared, is the one that seemingly depicts Kamala Haris during a campaign, where a hammer and sickle logo logo over a red-dominant background is prominent.
The hammer and sickle logo is a well-known symbol of communism.

It represents the unity of workers and peasants: the hammer symbolizes industrial workers, while the sickle represents agricultural laborers. This logo was originally adopted by the Bolshevik Party in Russia and became widely associated with the Soviet Union and other communist movements globally.
Communist ideology and the political and economic system of the U.S. differ in significant ways, as the latter is largely based on capitalism and liberal democracy.
Whereas communism seeks to eliminate class distinctions and promote collective ownership, the U.S. system values individual liberty, private ownership, and free-market competition.
Trump's has for multiple times, undermine Kamala Harris by mocking her laugh, character attacks, and calling her a communist.
