Emma Watson Dates A Tech Billionaire Who Doesn't Exist On The Internet

04/03/2026

For someone who grew up in one of the most famous movie franchises in the world, Emma Watson has always been unusually private about her personal life.

So when photos surfaced showing the actor kissing a mysterious man at a Mexican airport, the internet did what it does best: sleuth, investigate, and obsess. The airport kiss launched thousands of Google searches but before anything, this time, they immediately run into a wall of almost no information.

Because the man Watson appears to be dating, literally doesn't exist. Some started digging through foreign-language media, society pages, magazines and such, trying to piece together a profile. And again, pretty much nothing.

The man, reportedly powerful, is somehow nearly invisible online.

It was only then realized that her beau is none other than Mexican entrepreneur Gonzalo Hevia Baillères.

Rumors first exploded soon after the paparazzi photos showing Emma Watson and Hevia Baillères kissing at an airport in Mexico on March 4, 2026. The pair looked relaxed and affectionate before reportedly heading off to dinner together later.

That moment was the closest thing to a public "relationship confirmation" fans have seen so far.

But according to reports, the two had already been quietly spending time together for months. They were allegedly spotted together in the French Alps in late 2025 and later vacationing in Punta Mita, Mexico.

In other words, this wasn’t exactly a sudden romance. It's just finally became visible.

Reports suggest that Hevia Baillères is now in the tech and investment world, having founded an AI company called Insaite.

He’s also connected to one of Mexico’s wealthiest dynasties.

His family is tied to Grupo BAL, the business conglomerate built by mining magnate Alberto Baillères, whose companies span mining, finance, retail, and more. That empire includes the luxury department store chain El Palacio de Hierro and mining giant Industrias Peñoles. Altogether, the Baillères family fortune is estimated in the billions, making them one of the richest families in Mexico and Latin America.

On paper, Hevia Baillères checks every billionaire-boyfriend box imaginable: he's young and good looking, healthy at a productive age, an entrepreneur with a huge net worth.

Long story short, the "billionaire boyfriend" label isn't just tabloid exaggeration.

But what makes things intriguing is the information about Gonzalo Hevia Baillères, or more accurately, the lack of it.

The man barely exists online.

Despite being wealthy and described as a tech founder and coming from one of Mexico’s wealthiest families, Hevia Baillères appears to have left no meaningful digital footprint. There are only a handful of photos circulating online, most of them pulled from paparazzi shots or old society pictures. The Instagram account believed to belong to him is private and offers virtually no clues.

No interviews. No conference talks. No podcast appearances. No startup founder threads explaining his "vision." No charity or philanthropic acts. No nothing.

In an era where even moderately successful startup founders tend to document their lives like reality shows, have their social media posts read like diaries of product launches, and how LinkedIn pages track every internship, accelerator program, and keynote appearance, Gonzalo Hevia Baillères shares almost nothing.

In the modern tech ecosystem, that’s almost unheard of.

Even on Spanish-language media, searches for his name yields almost nothing.

What's known to the public is that, Gonzalo Hevia Baillères is the son of Gonzalo Hevia and Teresa Baillères, and the nephew of Alejandro Baillères. He is younger than Watson, and studied at the Le Rosey institute in Geneva, a school nicknamed "school of kings," because its classrooms educated various members of royalty from other countries.

He later returned to Mexico, where he attended Colegio Vista Hermosa and Cumbres.

He eventually graduated with a degree in Economics from ITAM, one of Mexico's most respected universities in the financial and business fields, solidifying a background oriented toward corporate leadership.

Hevia Baillères was previously under the spotlight after allegedly being the inspiration for one of Belinda's new songs.

Belinda, the Mexican pop star and actress who notably starred in The Cheetah Girls 2, released a single called "Heterochromia." it was speculated to reference Hevia Baillères, as the title refers to a condition that causes a person to have two different colored eyes, which Baillères has.

It's worth noting that Hevia Baillères served as the CEO of Insaite before it was acquired by a larger software firm in 2021. Hevia Baillères also served as Junior Board Representative at FEMSA between 2015 and 2020, leads HBeyond, an investment firm with offices in New York, Miami and Mexico City, focused on transformative technologies and globally scalable projects.

Hevia Baillères is also the founder and CEO of Lok, a startup launched in 2021 focused on mobility and logistics, operating smart lockers that facilitate the delivery, pickup and return of online purchases.

Besides all the above, it is strange for anyone like Gonzalo Hevia Baillères, a tech Gen Z, to remain under the radar.

Especially since the Baillères name itself is anything but obscure.

The family built a massive business empire spanning mining, retail, insurance, and finance. Their companies are household names in Mexico, and their wealth regularly lands them on global rich lists. Yet Gonzalo himself has remained almost completely outside the kind of visibility that usually follows people born into that level of power.

In a world where even billionaire heirs maintain meticulously curated social media feeds, his digital silence feels almost intentional.

And that's where the story starts to feel less strange and more familiar.

Because there's an old saying about generational wealth. The kind that isn't built in a single startup exit but accumulated across decades of industry and institutions.

Old money doesn't announce itself.

Old money doesn't chase visibility.

Old money rarely needs the internet to prove that it exists.

For someone described as a tech entrepreneur from a billionaire dynasty, it’s an unusually quiet existence.

It almost makes him feel like a ghost in the age of oversharing.

The contrast is especially striking when you consider Watson herself. Since rising to global fame through the Harry Potter film series as Hermione Granger, Watson has lived much of her life in the public eye. Her speeches, activism, and career moves have been analyzed for more than two decades.

And yet now she appears to be dating someone who seems to operate in the exact opposite way — someone whose public presence is so minimal that a few airport photos instantly became the most widely circulated images of him online.

In other words, the internet learned about Gonzalo Hevia Baillères and immediately ran into a digital void.

Ironically, a lot of people suggest that dating someone who isn't constantly in the spotlight may actually fit Watson's preferences perfectly.

In a 2025 interview, the actress said she prefers partners who aren’t overly familiar with her acting career, because it makes relationships feel more normal and less defined by her fame. If that's the case, a billionaire tech entrepreneur who barely shows up online might be the perfect match.

At the time, Watson made a rare comment about her love life, saying that she preferred to date people who aren't overly familiar with her work as an actress.

Watson said that she wants a potential partner to "appreciate my work, but I think knowing you don't have to navigate that extra degree of, like, weirdness is helpful, a relief."

"It's funny, occasionally people will apologize to me for the fact they've not seen my films. And I will be like, 'Please don't apologize. That is bliss to me.' Like, music to my ears that you're not going to constantly be navigating it," Watson said. "And me also navigating with you this projection of me, or this Emma Watson avatar-person will not be this ghost in the room."

When the news broke, neither Watson nor Hevia Baillères has publicly confirmed their relationship. But the airport photos, and months of quiet sightings, suggest the connection is real.

Still, the biggest twist might not be the romance itself.

It's that one of the most recognizable actors in the world might be dating a billionaire who, until a few days ago, essentially didn't exist on the internet.
