Google Penguin 1

24/04/2012

Google launched the Penguin algorithm to better catch sites deemed to be spamming its search results, in particular those doing black hat SEO, buying links or getting them through link networks designed primarily to boost Google rankings.

With the Penguin, Google is aiming to reduce "webspam" and "search spam". To do so, the Penguin looks through, and not limited to, the following:

  • Keyword stuffing.
  • Link schemes.
  • Cloaking, “sneaky” redirects or “doorway” pages.
  • Purposeful duplicate content.
