In the early morning in India, it was revealed that hackers managed to hack into a Twitter account that is linked to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The hackers didn't want anything with the account. Instead, the hackers that identified themselves as “John Wick,” only wanted to make things straight, by saying that the group didn't hack Paytm Pall, an local e-commerce platform.
Paytm Mall denied any breach of its platform.
While the hacked account is separate from the Prime Minister's official one, it has more than 2.5 million followers.
Making use of the situation, the group also asked the Prime Minister's followers to ‘donate’ money to a Bitcoin wallet, saying the money would go towards “PM National relief fund for COVID-19.”

Those two tweets were deleted when the account was restored.
"We’re aware of this activity and have taken steps to secure the compromised account. We are actively investigating the situation. At this time, we are not aware of additional accounts being impacted," said Twitter in a statement.
It should be noted that the account that was hacked, is only one of a handful of verified Twitter accounts connected to the Prime Minister.
Twitter said that the incident has no connection with the notorious hack back in July 2020 that saw attackers take over accounts owned by many famous companies, politicians and celebrities.
The hacker chose to use the codename "John Wick" because the hack that happened on September 2, coincides with Keanu Reeves’s birthday.
John Wick is a protagonist in a movie of the same name. Portrayed by Reeves, the character came out of retirement to track down the gangsters who robbed him and killed his puppy.
