Internet.org to Indonesia

Facebook's Internet.org program expands into Indonesia. As one of the most populated country in Asia, Indonesia is Internet.org's second largest launch in Asia after India.

Mark Zuckerberg said that in Indonesia, free services from Internet.org are so far only available through the mobile phone carrier Indosat. This is unexpected because during the pilot research conducted in Indonesia the partnering phone operator was XL Axiata.

Zuckerberg visited Indonesia in 2014 to see some of Indonesia's tech activity. At that time, he also met local communities that oversee Indonesia's internet connectivity.
