Melania Trump Joins The NFT Craze, Starting With 'Melania’s Vision' Artwork

17/12/2021

Melania Trump has joined a number of celebrities who wish to cash in on the non-fungible token (NFT) craze.

The first NFT the former First Lady of the U.S. is selling, is called the 'Melania’s Vision', which is a watercolor art by French artist Marc-Antoine Coulon, that "embodies Mrs. Trump’s cobalt blue eyes, providing the collector with an amulet to inspire."

The collectible also comes with "an audio recording from Mrs. Trump with a message of hope."

"My vision is: look forward with inspiration, strength, and courage," she said in the recording.

The listing wrote that Melania's personal journey has been enlightening; in which she had traveled from Slovenia through Europe and into the United States of America to then become the First Lady.

Melania's Vision
Melania’s Vision is based on a watercolor by French artist Marc-Antoine Coulon.

"The beauty and hardships of individuals, majestic landscapes and profound architecture have entered her lens and remain in her heart," the listing explained.

Melania's Vision that runs on the Solana blockchain, is meant to be for sale from December 16 to 31 for one SOL, which is priced around $180 at the time of writing.

Sales from Melania's collection through the NFT initiative will fund her Be Best initiative, which is a public-awareness campaign promoted by the former First Lady, focusing on well-being for youth and advocating against cyberbullying.

With the money, Melania wants to help foster children acquire "computer science skills, including programming and software development, to thrive after they age out of the foster community."

Melania's venture into the NFT world comes as the digital collectibles are becoming increasingly mainstream.

After the world witnesses the fact that NFT can disrupt the traditional forms of showcasing and collecting arts, people started trying their luck.

From the first-ever tweet that went on sale as an NFT, to Beeple's digital collage art that was sold at a staggering $69 million, the craze continues.

And this time, the 45th First Lady is joining the crowd.

In 2022, according to the statement, Melania plans to release new tokens at regular intervals.

"I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts, and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative," said Melania Trump.

“Through this new technology-based platform, we will provide children computer science skills, including programming and software development, to thrive after they age out of the foster community.”

At the moment of announcement, Melania does not show that she has an agenda in mind, or neither does she offers the collections as something political.

In an interview which was made when she left the White House, she said that she "envisioned creating a new platform where freedom of speech can flourish."
