Google experienced a global outage that affects users as they try to log in to the company’s apps, including Gmail and Google Docs.
According to Google, the problem was caused by “an issue with OAuth login” and “an issue with Admin console” on Wednesday evening. As a result, users also couldn't sign in into web services that use Google accounts.
Many were greeted with an error page when they tried to login, citing error 502.
“We’re sorry, but your Gmail account is temporarily unavailable,” read one login error message posted to Twitter. “We apologize for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes.”
According to the Outage Report website, hundreds of affected users in the US, UK, India, Singapore, Europe and Australia had complained about the issue.

The problem was first reported at around 11PM BST.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
On its dashboard page, Google said it would “conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to help prevent or minimise future recurrence”.
The issue lasted for hours before Google finally resolved the problem, just before 1AM BST.
"The problem with Gmail should be resolved," said a spokeswoman in a statement.
This problem is yet another outage the company was experiencing, after the March 2019 outage that literally panicked the internet.
