Practically everything is connected to the internet.

Companies know that by putting their data to the cloud, the data can be accessed from anywhere around the globe. This is not only convenient, since it also allows safe keeping of data.

The thing is, once a data is put on the internet, it is at risk of being hacked.

And this time, Ubisoft, the French video game company known for game titles like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Just Dance, Prince of Persia and more, said that it experienced a "cyber security incident."

The incident in question temporarily disrupted some games, systems, and services, the company reported.

Ubisoft said it believes that "at this time there is no evidence any player personal information was accessed or exposed as a by-product of this incident."

After Ubisoft managed to contain the attack, the company said that its games and services are now "functioning normally."

But as a precaution, the company had to reset all of its employees' passwords.

"Our IT teams are working with leading external experts to investigate the issue. As a precautionary measure we initiated a company-wide password reset," the company said in a web page on its website.

About who caused the incident, the hacking group Lapsus$ took responsibility, suggesting that it was behind the hack in a post on its Telegram channel..

The group is the same actor behind the Nvidia hack and Samsung data breach.

Nvidia confirmed on March 1 that hackers leaked employee credentials and proprietary information, whereas Samsung on March 7 said that hackers stole internal company data and source code for Galaxy devices.
