29/04/2014

Possessed is when someone is influenced or controlled by something, and that they can become irrational, and go mad or crazy.

And this is what people will think, when they see the viral video of a cheerful Black woman named Nikki during her tutorial video.

The video starts out with the woman greeting her viewers, welcoming them. And just like any influencers out there, she's friendly, and smiles a lot.

Everything seems to be normal, before the left side of the screen changes to what seems to be CCTV footage of darkness.

A soon as she noticed this, her expression drastically changed.

This is when the horror starts.

The first time her part of the screen turned dark, she is seen startled by it, but brushed it off professionally, and continues her stream.

But the second time part of the screen turned dark, she stops being the woman she was.

After only a minute into the video, seeing the seemingly haunted CCTV footage for the second time, her face suddenly shows a blank expression.

Then suddenly, she begins to slam her head into her computer desk several times, as hard as she could.

She did this eight times in quick succession, in which in every hit, her face becomes more and more deformed.

Once she's finished and pulls herself back up to her chair.

With one of her eyes twitching, she is seen slowly losing her consciousness, with blood pouring down her face.

There is also a huge, but irregular bump on her forehead, which suggests that the frontal bone of her skull is broken, seemingly exposing part of her brain.

The video then ends.

The original video was called 'Party Make Up by Nikki', and was uploaded by a user named the15experience.

"The video was sent to me anonymously. I do not have any information beyond that. It is for you to decide no your own whether it is real or fake," reads the description.

But after the video went viral due to the gore, the internet then popularizes it with the name 'Girl Goes Psycho During Makeup Tutorial' video.

While the original video was removed from YouTube for containing graphic content, copies of it remain on the web as people began reuploading and resharing it.

Over the time it went viral, little do most people knew that the video was actually created as part of a horror-themed shorts, made to look like a makeup tutorial, shot for an online horror community in 2016.

The host, Nikki, is actually an actress and filmmaker that goes by the name Nakia Secrest.

In other words, the video is only a well-made creepy video.

Realizing the fact or not, fast forward to the age of social media, many people are still posting part of the video on platforms like TikTok.

Since the beginning of time, the internet has been filled with creepy and disturbing content, and 'Girl Goes Psycho During Makeup Tutorial' is just one of the many.

But interestingly, unlike most gore and violence 'amateur' clip, which are mostly recorded real incident, this video is a professionally-made clip that managed to deceive the internet.

To clarify that the video is a fake and was a publicity stunt, Nakia Secrest made a post dedicated to it on her Instagram, and reshared the link on Twitter.

Two years later, she also made another post on Instagram, to show that she's all well and not dead.
