A graduate of Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, the recipient of an Honours degree in Zoology from the University of Leeds, and a PhD in zoology from the University of Bristol, he has been living two lives.
Adam Britton, a consultant on animals, is a crocodile expert, and that his knowledge about the carnivorous reptile has made him a renowned academic.
Having worked for the BBC and the National Geographic, Britton was also a research associate at Charles Darwin University in Darwin, Australia, and has appeared on the Discovery Channel.
He was also a co-founder of a company that provides footage of crocodiles to TV and film directors.
Britton was enjoying quite a reputation, until everything he built, earned and gained is overshadowed by something sinister.
So sinister that nothing about him matters anymore.

Britton was born in the 1970s in in West Yorkshire and grew up in the UK. In his 20s, he moved to Australia, met his future wife, and began building up his reputation as a consultant and wildlife expert.
He first gained international recognition when he became a crocodile expert, and among others, collaborated with prominent figures like David Attenborough, a British broadcaster, biologist, and natural historian.
But then, Britton had to left everything behind him, after he confessed to bestiality and a plethora of animal sexual abuse charges filed against him in Australia in September 2023.
In all, the zoologist confessed to 60 heinous crimes involving the rape, torture and killing of dogs.
Britton has confessed to having an interest in "zoo-sadism," and that he documented his hideous through a series of videos, one of which was notoriously shared on Telegram Messenger.
On the online platform where he operated, Britton used pseudonyms like "Monster" and "Cerberus," and reportedly film himself torturing the animals.
And not just that, because he would also allegedly access child abuse material on the platform.
During his trial, numerous online messages that were presented to the Northern Territory Supreme Court, showed that Britton guided other people on how to perpetrate similar acts of abuse.
It's said that Britton used to commit his acts inside a shipping container dubbed the "torture room."

As for how he got his hands on his victims, the Australian court has been told that Britton used to source rescue dogs on the online classifieds website Gumtree Australia.
Britton looked for people giving away their pets due to travel or work commitments, and try to get the custody of the animals, the prosecutors told the court.
He would use "false narratives," or send old photos to the previous owners reaching out for an update on their old pets, they said.
Then, Britton would offer those owners to rehome their pets to his expansive 10,000 m2 McMinns Lagoon property at southeast of Darwin.
When their former owners asked about the dogs, Britton would tell them that the dogs were thriving in his care, when in fact, he had already sexually abused them, or even killed them.
From the 42 dogs he allegedly abused, 39 died.
Not only he sexually abused others' dogs, because he also raped his own Swiss Shepherd dogs, Ursa and Bolt, for almost a decade.
Britton pleaded guilty of bestiality, which is an atypical sexual interests in non-human animals.
He also pleaded guilty of accessing and transmitting child abuse material.
"I was talking with someone else about why I love to hurt dogs," he once wrote in a secret chat group on Telegram. "I wasn’t sure at first, but now I live for it. I can’t stop myself hurting dogs."
On the popular messaging platform, Britton even discussed his kill count.
"I was sadistic as a child to animals, but I had repressed it. In the last few years I let it out again, and now I can’t stop. I don’t want to."
In all, Britton suffers from paraphilia, a condition that was presented at the court by his lawyer, who has sought to remain anonymous due to the threats they have been receiving for representing Britton.
"This is a human being who has been afflicted by a condition since very early childhood," Britton’s lawyer said.
"It is not his fault that he had that."
"This particular condition is exceptionally taboo in most societies and the court can, and I hope would, accept that that would have been a very difficult thing to grow up with and learn to manage into adulthood."

Adam Britton was arrested in April 2022, after the Australian authorities were alerted to Britton’s activities by an anonymous person.
Through a video titled '1 Bitch 9 Pups', a naked middle-aged man is seen in what appears to be a forest, with a set of tools,
The man is then seen torturing, and later murdering a female boxer/pitbull mix and her nine pups.
The first pup had its skull drilled using a driller hammer, and that the second was sawed in half. The man stomped on the third before masturbating on it, and stabbed the fourth through its anus. The fifth pup was stabbed through the mouth. The sixth pup had its genitalia mutilated, and the seventh was disemboweled. The eighth pup was killed with the man's hand, whereas the ninth pup had its limbs broken and also disemboweled and decapitated, before the man ejaculated on its head.
The mother dog showed no reaction, and besides being forced to eat some of her pups' remains, she licked their wounds and exposed innards even while they were still alive
After killing all the pups, the man turned to the mother.
The man started by urinating into its mouth, before immobilizing it with a duct tape, and beating it to death.
During the entire length of the video, the man is completely silent, and that his face is never shown on the screen.
The lead in the video, is the leash of the dog that says "City of Darwin."
The authorities then spread their net, and investigators launched 'Operation Haine'.
And with a warrant to raid Britton’s McMinns Lagoon home in Darwin, this was when the police realized that things are far more sinister from what they thought it would be.
Things are diabolical and vile.
It's found that Britton has tortured, mutilated, raped, and killed dogs, and that most of the dogs he killed were pit bulls. After killing the unfortunate dogs, he would then keep most of their bodies in baskets.
Occasionally, he would cook and roast a few of the dead dogs and feed them to his new victims.
The police also uncovered a "significant number" of the man's hardcore animal cruelty videos and photos, meaning that 1 Bitch 9 Pups is not the only video series Britton has produced.
It's said that 17 other videos existed.
But fortunately, none of them were shared outside of Telegram and were all deleted along with the account.

The 1 Bitch 9 Pups video was first brought to attention to the larger internet community, when forum members, including those on Reddit, revealed the existence of the horrifically disturbing and inhumane content.
The reaction of people who witnessed the videos was overwhelming, and some said that they suffered trauma. Some viewers who are used to graphic violence also expressed their disgust, with them saying that they couldn't handle the video.
His case shocked and angered animal rights activists and the public alike as the details of his disturbing actions came to light.
They came to the court, but had to vacate the room when the Northern Territory Supreme Court judge Michael Grant asked his staff to let animal rights activists leave the room due to Britton's "grotesque cruelty to animals."
Protesters outside the courthouse displayed signs demanding justice, including calls for the death penalty and "justice for the innocent victims of Adam Britton."
Another sign reads "Rapist, torturer, murderer."
"He’s got to be punished so people don’t think that animals are something that can be exploited and abused," one protester said.
This case shows how horrible Britton's crimes were and how they affected his victims and their owners for a long time.

Lead prosecutor, Marty Aust, said Britton was having "entrenched enjoyment" from his acts, and that "there was significant planning to the extent that it was quite a production, with multiple cameras, tripods, various recording equipment, production values, editing."
"If you watch that footage you will see the extreme pleasure and enjoyment that this man had in creating this and doing these acts. His sheer delight goes to the core of it […] it’s difficult to read, it’s difficult to hear but to see it, really is something other."
Aust added that "much like any other human being who has a particular sexual interest," Britton was "able to rationally determine whether to act on that interest."
"He has done so and then, with the incitement and the encouragement of other like-minded persons, he has offended in a way that’s almost beyond description in terms of its significant depravity," he said.
So even if Britton's condition were treatable, Aust said that "there remains a constant risk of its recurrence."
Britton managed to keep his twisted double life secret from his wife Erin for years.
Erin, a wildlife ranger and biologist who once met Prince Harry and helped him catch a crocodile, has since reportedly left the marriage and changed her name.
Britton's resort-style estate at Darwin is then seen up for sale.
