Google Puts Bard Into Lens To Boost 'Imagination And Creativity In Completely New Ways'

Google Lens has been Google's 'eyes' into the real world, through users' perspective, since 2017.

Lens, which uses an AI-powered image recognition technology, is designed to bring up relevant information related to objects it identifies using visual analysis based on a neural network. With the ubiquity of Google across devices, Lens has been made available by default on many Android's camera app, and also powering Google's very own reverse image search.

Now, it's ramping things up a bit.

Google announced that it has embedded Google Lens to Google Bard, its powerful and hyped generative AI.

"We’re bringing the power of Google Lens into Bard. Now, you can upload images alongside text in your conversations, allowing you to boost your imagination and creativity in completely new ways," said Google.

What Google is doing here, is further expanding Bard's abilities.

Here, the feature allows users to upload an image and ask Bard for more information on it or incorporate it into the prompt itself.

Google Bard, originally announced at Google I/O, was a botch, and made a $100 billion mistake.

But since the underwhelming launch and in order to improve user experience, Google has been adding new features to Bard at a fast rate.

Besides the integration with Google Lens, Google has also expanded Bard's country availability to also include Brazil and across Europe, and language to include over 40 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish.

This language expansion also applies to Bard's spoken responses feature, which should allow Bard to respond in over 40 languages as opposed to only being able to read them.

On top of that, users can also personalize the chatbot's responses in terms of tone and style. The options are simple, long, short, professional, or casual.

This feature resembles the options Bing Chat has on its chatbot that allows users to pick more creative, balanced, or precise responses.

After that, users are also given the ability to revisit conversations, and allows users to pin and rename conversations in the sidebar.

Exporting chat responses is also easier on Bard with a Python code-exporting option.

In all, the updates should make Bard a more worthy competitor to the more-hyped ChatGPT AI from OpenAI.
