Instagram Follows Facebook's Lead By Having Threaded Comment Feature

Conversation is what makes communication going. and that is the type of engagement Instagram wants.

The photo-sharing platform follows Facebook lead by introducing a simple but significant feature: comment threads. Previously, users could only make a general comment under a post.

But with the update, Instagram's comment box becomes much more similar to Facebook's as users can reply to individual comments.

For users to start or participate in a conversation thread, they just need to tap on the reply button under the individual message they want to reply to. Plain and simple.

To start or participate in a thread, simply tap the reply button under individual messages.

And also like Facebook, users could not create a thread within an existing thread.

Instagram comment threads

According to Instagram,

"Comment threads help you keep track of conversations and make it easy to respond to a specific thread. This update will make your feed an even better place to share interests, get inspired and connect with others."

"Now, when you hit reply underneath any comment, your response will automatically be grouped right underneath it in a thread."

The update is rolling out slowly to all users through Instagram version 24 on both iOS and Android.
