Large language models (LLMs) are transforming industries, workflows, and the way we interact with technology in profound ways.
Since OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, the tech world quickly took notice, and realize how disruptive LLMs can be. But as soon as more AI tools and features are introduced, things become diluted.
The only way to thrive, is by continuous improving.
This time, OpenAI has launched a new set of APIs and tools, designed specifically for developers and enterprises who wish to build, deploy and scale AI agents.
Since agents are said to be the future of AI, OpenAI is trying to help developers build their own.

In a blog post, OpenAI said that:
"To address these challenges, we’re launching a new set of APIs and tools specifically designed to simplify the development of agentic applications."
The API and tools OpenAI is introducing, include:
- Responses API that combines the Chat Completions API with the tool use capabilities of the Assistants API for building agents.
- Built-in tools including web search, file search, and computer use.
- Agents SDK to orchestrate single-agent and multi-agent workflows.
- Integrated observability tools to trace and inspect agent workflow execution.
These new tools should be able to enhance core agent logic, orchestration, and interactions, making it much easier for developers to start building agents.
OpenAI believes that these "agents" can become an integral part of people's by enhancing their productivity across different industries.
