Subscribing Made Easier, With 'Subscribe With Google'

Tech giant Google has launched Subscribe with Google, a service that allows people to subscribe to their favorite news publications, with Google.

For readers, the feature keeps track of login information on all publication they have subscribed to, by linking the subscription to their Google account. This way, it should be easier for readers to sign up for new subscription.

Users just need to select the publisher offer they'd like to subscribe to, and click "Subscribe." They can then be signed in to the site, and can pay with any credit cards they've previously used with Google.

And what makes Subscribe with Google a convenient feature to use, is that it won't have annoying paywalls that come up as much when switching devices. Whenever users are logged in into their Google account, they are automatically logged into their subscription.

And for publishers, the same simplicity applies. With easier access to their contents, with Google helping readers to subscribe and pay, publishers may see an increased readership. Usually, people were too lazy to fill out forms.

For example, to subscribe, people were required to put their name, email, or maybe username and password combination. And that doesn’t end there, because they also need to fill a bunch of credit card details, which most people won't likely have them memorized.

But with Google in the middle, the company is putting those aside.

So here, Subscribe with Google should make subscribing a lot easier for many people.

As for the launch, Google has initially partnered with Les Échos, Fairfax Media, Le Figaro, the Financial Times, Gatehouse Media, Grupo Globo, The Mainichi, McClatchy, La Nación, The New York Times, NRC Media, Le Parisien, Reforma, la Republica, The Telegraph, USA TODAY NETWORK and The Washington Post.
