The microblogging platform Twitter finally adds a feature that could be one of the most useful feature ever.
Users are already having the heart 'Like' feature which was the easiest way to save a tweet. But that however, was inconvenient.
Shaped like a heart, the button indicates a positive sentiment or an "endorsement " - which is not always the case. There are often times when users just want to later return to a tweet, without signaling that they like or support the content it includes.
And since Liked tweets are stored on users' profile and are shown to the public, Liking tweets affect privacy. This is especially true to public figures as they don't want personal interest to affect public reactions, for example.
So if you've previously Liked tweets in order to remember them, things are changing with Twitter launching the 'Bookmarks' feature.

The feature was first spotted back in October 2017, following the company’s HackWeek project dubbed #SaveForLater.
At that time, it was realized that saving contents for later reading was something people have wanted for because of how much tweets have circulated on Twitter. Most of the time, tweets can be long and include links to articles people found interesting, but don't have the time to read at that moment.
Simply put, the Bookmarks feature allows users to save a tweet for later reading. Plain and clear with no gimmicks or drawbacks.
And probably the best thing about the feature, is that any bookmarked tweets are private, meaning, no one would be able to see them. Bookmarking a tweet also won't alert the original poster, and this is certainly a good thing.
"Bookmarks help people keep up with the best of Twitter," said Twitter associate product manager Jesar Shah in a blog post.
To save a tweet, users can tap on the share icon located in the bottom right corner of the tweet, and select 'Add tweet to bookmarks.' They can then view their bookmarks by tapping on their profile icon in the top left corner of the app.
For added convenience, Twitter will show each bookmarked tweets in order they were saved.
Twitter is also adding a 'Share' option to tweets. Replacing the envelope icon - which was for sharing via DMs - with a more standard "arrow in a box." Here, the Share option includes sharing via DMs, saving tweets to Moments, and sharing the tweet through third-party apps like email.
This is an improvement, and also an workaround for people that haven't had a way to privately save tweets by doing things like DM’ing tweets to themselves, saving them in Notepad, emailing them, opening them in a new tab, and other tricks.
The Bookmarks feature is rolling out to Twitter's app on iOS and Android, data-friendly Twitter Lite, as well as its mobile website.
