Twitter Releases 'Circle' To All Users, Making Conversations More Personalized And Private

Twitter Circle

Social media is crowded. When too many people speak their voices, there is just too much noise.

Twitter, the microblogging platform, is where people express their opinions in just a few sentences at a time. Things can get pretty noisy there, and sometimes, the noise dilutes what's necessary. This is why Twitter has what it calls the 'Trusted Friends' feature.

This time, after a little over a year since Twitter announced its plans to create a more intimate experience with the feature, Twitter evolved it to create 'Twitter Cricle'.

It was launched in beta, before Twitter finally makes it available to all users on iOS, Android and the web.

The intention of Twitter Circle is to create a more intimate experience and allow users to build better connections with those on Twitter.

With Circle, Twitter is creating a new way to communicate with friends, family, and followers.

To start a Circle, users should first create a tweet like usual, but instead of making the tweet public, users must choose the Circle option.

Users can create a Circle by inviting anyone they want on Twitter, The person doesn't have to be a follower or a followee. Users can invite up to 150 people into one Circle.

After all is done, anything that is tweeted inside that Circle will remain private to only those who are included in that Circle.

This also applies to any responses or reactions that are received.

Although tweets inside a Circle can’t be shared or retweeted, there is the possibility that a screenshot can still be taken.

As explained by Twitter in a blog post:

"Before you post on Twitter, you’ll now see an option to share your Tweet with either your circle or your full followers list. Circles can contain up to 150 people, and you can adjust who’s in and who’s out at any time. Don’t worry, no one will be notified of any changes you make to your circle."

According to Twitter, Circle is all about personalizing experience.

"We want to ensure everyone on Twitter has the choice, control, tools, and transparency to join the conversation how and when they want, and Twitter Circle is another important step in that direction."

"Giving people the option to share thoughts with a select group of followers helps make Tweeting more accessible. This is true whether you’re brand new to Twitter or you have millions of followers."

Circle is a product for users who wish to have a more comfortable way for tweeting and expressing themselves, which eliminates the need for alternate or secondary accounts. It's also a way for users to share content with a close and evolving group of friends, and a feature that helps users avoid toggling between protected and public account settings.

Despite being an intimate space, users in a Circle will not be able to see how has joined.

This list is only available to the creator of the Circle.

Furthermore, the creator will have the ability to add and remove users at any point, and those removed will not be notified.
