‘You Can’t Take My Door’, A Country Song Written By AI

“You Can’t Take My Door.”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken the world by storm. The technology has been used almost anywhere that it can lay its digital hands on.

From the tech industries and beyond, AI can apparently learn to understand some art. After two technologists created an AI capable of growling Death Metal songs continuously, things don't stop there, as researchers have also created something easier to the ears.

And that is by creating an AI capable or writing a Country song.

Botnik Studios here, has developed an AI-generated lyrical masterpiece it calls “You Can’t Take My Door.”

While the song was edited and arranged by humans, and sung by Elle O’Brien and Timothy Joyce which are also humans, with the music video, again, also created entirely by humans, the lyrics itself are created by a machine, known as Recursive Neural Network, which was programmed by Botnik Studios.

Just like most neural networks that came before it, Botnik's AI was fed with data that consisted of Country music, in order to make it learn how to create a similar, but unique output with some fresh lyrics.

Eventually, the AI mastered the genre, and successfully created its first song, in the YouTube video uploaded by Botnik below:

Oh you can’t take my door / I don’t wanna love you anymore.

Won’t let my heart be my face / barbed whiskey good and whiskey straight.

No you can’t take my door.

"We trained a neural network on all of country music's greatest hits to write this even greater hit called 'You Can't Take My Door,'" said Botnik Studios.

"We’re mashing up all the best text in history to create the ultimate album, with lyrics co-written by computer algorithms and people."

Botnik Studios’ accomplishment in AI, is nothing short of showcasing how machines can be taught to learn something that was previously unique to humans. Here, Botnik is somehow proving that machines can demonstrate remarkable things.

With the ongoing development of the AI field, people will create more AI products that do even more humanly things.

This is possible because the internet is just full of things. With the many data available for the taking, AI should have no shortage of learning materials.
