Apple's iPhone OS 1

29/06/2007

Apple's iPhone OS version 1 is the first iteration of Apple's touch interface mobile operating system. No official name given on its initial release; Apple marketing simply stating the iPhone runs a version of Apple's desktop operating system, OS X.

On March 6, 2008, with the release of the iPhone software development kit (iPhone SDK), Apple named it iPhone OS. The iPhone OS was the first operating system Apple released that features a finger touch interface, with previous failed efforts to create popular mobile devices all relying on a stylus.
