While lots of sex tapes exist, and that new ones are uploaded every single day, not everything can go viral.
In Indonesia, sex tapes exist and lots of raunchy contents are also uploaded to the internet, either by the subjects' consent or not. Despite the number of such videos increases, only a handful can go viral.
The recipe for a viral sex tape often depends on how the public perceive the sex tape after it is shared.
And this time, "the woman in red kebaya" has gone viral on the internet, with her 16 minutes and 1 second sex tape.
Because of this, the authorities put a particular interest in the case, since in Indonesia, despite its proposed Bill on Pornography that provoked a severe negative reaction from many people who believed that the government is trying to limit their freedom, it is still forbidden to sell or promote any kind of pornographic materials.
When the video starts, a woman appears standing on high heels while wearing a red kebaya, which is a traditional upper garment worn by women in Indonesia, a kamen, which is a traditional Indonesian female torso wrap, and a brown clothe tied on her hips.
The woman is seen blindfolded using a black clothe, waiting for someone to exit the bathroom.
Moments later, a man comes out while wearing a white towel and a golden mask.
It appears that the couple was role-playing, in which the woman takes the role of the hotel's room service, and that the man is the hotel's guest.
She is seen there standing, holding, and offering the man an ashtray.
The man tells the woman to place the ashtray on the table, and later, the woman is seen cleaning some spills beside the bed.
But as she is bending over to clean the floor, the man begins fondling her from behind.
The woman initially resists but eventually obliges.
Soon, the two engages in dirty talks. The man then undresses the woman from her traditional Indonesian clothing, her Sorex underwear, to then engage in various sex acts, including sexual intercourse.
The video itself is common for amateur or homemade videos, as the people in the video were acting out a skit, or a short scenario, prior to intercourse.
The video that is virally known as "the woman in red kebaya" (Indonesia: wanita kebaya merah) has been shared by many internet users, and has become a trending topic on social media platforms for days.
At first, it was said that the video was made in Bali.
This was speculated because of the kamen the woman is seen wearing, which is a traditional clothing for people living in the Island of the Gods.
But the police said that the woman's choice of clothing cannot justify where the video was shot.
According to Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Nanang Prihasmoko, the Head of the Cyber Sub-directorate at the Special Crime Directorate of Bali regional police, the police are investigating the woman and man performing sexual conduct in the video.
After further investigation, the police found that it was shot in in the city of Surabaya, in the province of East Java.
To be exact, the sex tape was made in a hotel room located in Gubeng, in room 1710.
The police made that conclusion, based on the room's layout, the furniture, the wallpaper, and the view outside of the window.
The investigation suggests that the sex tape was made in July 2022.
"From the description made by the hotel staff and a number of hotel employees, it is known that each room in the hotel is installed with a no smoking sticker in June - July 2022, while in the video there is no no smoking sticker in the room," he said.
According to further investigation, the police revealed a man with the initial ACS, and a woman with the initial AH, as the two in the video.
The man owns an event organizer business, whereas the woman is a social media influencer.
The two made the video upon the request of a Twitter user who wished to buy it. The role play theme was chosen based on the two's personal fantasy.
Wardi Waluyo, the head Surabaya's Resort Departmental Police Force in woman and child advocate, said that the couple in the sex video could face a maximum prison sentence of six years, and a fine up to one billion rupiah, because the video violates the ITE Law Number 19 of 2016 Article 27 paragraph 1, he explained.
As previously reported, the police in Surabaya appealed to the public not to redistribute the video of the woman in red kebaya, even through the video is viral on social media.
He also said that netizens and irresponsible people who redistribute the videos could also be subject to criminal charges.
The police has to say this because in Twitter and some other online platforms, snippets of the video and links can be found. Some people even blatantly sell the video, cashing in on the trend.
"The provisions regarding the distribution of content that violates decency have actually been regulated in Article 27 Paragraph 1 of the ITE Law Number 19 of 2016," he said.
It was later reported that AH is Icha Ceeby, a model and an Instagram influencer. It's also reported that she has multiple personality disorder.
