During a formal interview, people should plan to speak formally, converse in a professional and polished manner, in order to make a great expression.

But during an informal interview, the typically more relaxed and conversational conversation can make the interviewee to speak up something unplanned, and make something up on a moment's notice.

The idea of being spontaneous revolves around embracing the unexpected and acting on impulses without extensive planning.

This time, a woman goes viral on social media, following her interview with YouTubers Tim & Dee TV.

Initially posted on Instagram, the internet later knows her for her "Hawk Tuah."

The woman goes viral for using the word as an onomatopoeia for the sound a person makes while collecting saliva and spitting it out, and as for "that thing" remains free for the subjective minds to think about.

It started off when YouTubers Tim & Dee TV made a content by asking questions to strangers they come across on the street. During one such interviews, they interviewed two women in Nashville, Tennessee, filmed after dark, in an area apparently brimming with late-night dwellers.

DeArius Marlow asked them a slightly NSFW question: "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?"

One of the women immediately answered in her Southern accent and laughed.

"Oh, you gotta give him that 'hawk tuah', and spit on that thing, you get me?"

Through her "hawk tuah," she has indeed juts juts her head forward violently, as if about to send a volley of discharge into the microphone in front of her.

Despite the mild NSFW nature of the answer, the woman's playful tonal stress on the onomatopoeia soon caught the attention of social media users.

It didn't take long before the video received quite a lot of attention and views.

And when DeArius reposted the video on his TikTok account and his main YouTube account, the video also quickly amassed a lot of views.

Netizens who were amused with the way the woman delivered her answer, stressing the spitting sound, began referring to her as the 'Hawk Tuah girl' , and the 'Spit On That Thing girl'.

The phrase further became a trend after a user made a greenscreen template of the woman from Tim & Dee TV. Other TikTok users soon chimed in and began inserting the template into different everyday scenarios.

Netizens were curious about the real identity of the woman, and began looking for her social media accounts. Several people asked for her Instagram or TikTok ID, and in search for the woman's identity, many began tagging different people thinking it was her.

However, none could accurately tag the woman.

That, until someone tagged two women: Chelsea Bradford and Hailey Welch.

While that post was quickly deleted, Chelsea is later photographed with Hailey Welch on her VSCO account, seemingly confirming her and Welch as the viral sensations in the video.

Days after the Hawk Tuah girl went viral, fans have also started making merch with the catchphrase, including hats, shirts, and more.

A company have managed to reach Hailey, and also confirmed that it was her, said that the two have signed a deal for some exclusive merch they're making.

"HAWK TUAH OFFICIAL!!! We are selling authorized merchandise representing the Hawk Tuah girl so she is getting part of the proceeds,” they said in a Facebook post on June 19.

What this suggests, Hailey is trying her best to turn her viral moment into a business opportunity. Whether celebrated or criticized, this Hawk Tuah story is yet another proof that the unpredictable nature of internet fame remains undefeated.

Unsurprisingly, the phrase "hawk tuah" is even having its own Urban Dictionary entry.
