Facebook's efforts to connect the world continued with the launch of with Internet.org in Guatemala and a drone test flight.
Chris Daniels, Vice President of Internet.org, Facebook said, "We are excited to be partnering with Tigo to bring Internet.org to Guatemala. As we did just a few months ago in Colombia, today we are offering a set of free basic services so more people can come online, discover the Internet and access useful services and information."
The Internet.org launch in country was enabled through a partnership between Facebook and Millicom, the telecommunications and media company (Stockholmsbörsen: MIC), which operates under Tigo. By partnering with Tigo, Internet.org is giving free internet access to users in the country.
