Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, And How The Internet Is Lusting For This Giantess

09/05/2021

Resident Evil is a video game franchise that centers around a number of characters dealing with chaotic situations caused by a virus unleased by a huge corporation called Umbrella Corporation.

Mostly happening around the Raccoon City, the characters have to deal with endless horde of zombies and other threats coming from other sorts of creatures lurking in the dark. The horror video game that has been around since 1996, has been part of the pop culture, and has experienced Capcom's various experiments.

Capcom has been introducing new gameplays to the game, to make the franchise even more interesting to fans. For example, in some installments, Capcom has gone away from a traditional survival horror into a more action-packed horror game.

One of the results, is the 2021 Resident Evil Village, the tenth main installment in the Resident Evil series and a narrative sequel to 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

And in this installment, Capcom managed to again caught many of fans' attention, using one of its characters: Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, the giant vampire villain who has taken the internet fandom by storm since she was first revealed.

It all began three years after protagonist Ethan Winters survived Resident Evil 7. Just when he wanted to return to a normal life with his family, seasoned zombie killer Chris Redfield showed up at his house.

This was when Ethan is back to the nightmare.

The internet lusts Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, as soon as Capcom debuted her.

And this time, Resident Evil Village brings Ethan to a haunted European village, where he needs to survive monsters like werewolves and witches, and also the castle's host, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, the game's most interesting antagonist.

Before Capcom even formally revealed Dimitrescu name, users on the internet and particularly on social media, have been referring to the busty woman as the “Tall Vampire Lady.”

The bloodthirsty Dimitrescu quickly caught the internet's interest, as she is almost 3 meters tall. This makes her the tallest human in recorded history.

Not only that the lady of the castle towers Ethan, having to duck every time she wants to go through a normal-sized door, she also has long and sharp claws.

Resembling a human more than a monster, if putting aside her pale-white skin, the internet just loves her.

Dimitrescu's appearance isn’t the only thing that makes her interesting.

Throughout the whole installments, Capcom has largely avoided using classic monsters in order to favor more gruesome creatures. And that is up to this time, that Capcom finally includes vampires and werewolves in Resident Evil franchise.

And Dimitrescu's presence with her attire that exudes elegance, is an evolution for the series.

Video games have various strategies to appeal gamers. One of which, is using female as their main characters.

And as for the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom has introduced diverse characters, many of whom are females who received positive receptions among fans.

For example, special operation unit member Jill Valentine has been regarded among the most popular and iconic video game characters ever, antiheroine Ada Wong has been considered among the 50 greatest female characters in video game history, and police officer Claire Redfield has been among the most attractive video game characters.

But in this Resident Evil Village, what makes Dimitrescu unique is that she lives in a house that populated only by women.

The lady of the house lives with Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela, three other blood-sucking vampires Dimitrescu refers to as her daughters.

“With Lady Dimitrescu as the cult’s guru, we have created this hierarchy of women,” Resident Evil Village director Morimasa Sato. “Men have their blood drained by these women, so you could say it’s the opposite of Dracula.”

Dimitrescu who took the internet by storm, quickly inspired fan arts and cosplay, immediately after her reveal in one of the game's earliest trailers.

“...Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters have received a fair amount of attention, far more than we anticipated. It’s great that they’re able to take the spotlight as icons of Resident Evil Village. Lady Dimitrescu, especially, has received much fanfare both domestically and overseas, which has made us all on the development team extremely happy."

“We wanted characters to have a sense of familiarity, but also present something else that would stoke a sense of fear or unease,” Resident Evil Village Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda explained.

“I like how her character is dynamic, as in when you first meet her there’s a feeling of uncertainty, because she’s not noticeably scary or grotesque, which might signal to a player this is an enemy. In addition to Lady Dimitrescu’s physical design, we also took great care in designing her sound, like her laugh and her walk. Sound is an important element in how she evokes fear with the player, as she will stalk Ethan throughout the castle and players will hear her coming without seeing her.”

Capcom somehow managed to successfully make Dimitrescu to create the feeling of both fear and the desire. Or also called macrophilia, many gamers said that they'd rather run towards her, and fantasize to be stepped on, rather than running away from her.

In other words, Dimitrescu also became the internet's favorite though fans' sexual fantasy and craze.

Dimitrescu also follows the internet's "Rule 34" which asserts that "if something exists, there is porn of it".

Dimitrescu has been made to various memes, with the giantess' pornographic images, animations and also cosplays populating adults entertainment websites, even before Capcom formally launched Resident Evil Village.

Having introduced Dimitrescu as one of the game's main bosses, this translates well to Capcom and the reception of the Resident Evil Village installment.

It should be noted that Dimitrescu’s role as the bloodthirsty lady of a giant castle is influenced by one of the characters in Resident Evil 4, which also took place outside the franchise's wheelhouse.
