McDonald's Twitter Fail: "Nothing Comes Before Coffee"

McDonald’s posted what appeared to be an incomplete draft of a Black Friday tweet.

In the early morning hours of Friday, the fast food restaurant shared a tweet that read, “Black Friday **** Need copy and link****”

It's obvious that at the time, the social media team had intended for copy to go into the "need copy and link" space, but they failed to update their scheduled tweet. The tweet fail was left without being removed,

After realizing the mistake, instead of deleting it, McDonald's followed up the gaffe with a joke to poke fun at itself, by saying about not having had enough caffeine. "When you tweet before your first cup of McCafé… Nothing comes before coffee,"

But that didn't stop the internet from making fun of that mistake, including rivals like Wendy's, saying that "When the tweets are as broken as the ice cream machine."
