Twitch is platform known for banning a lot of people.
In the past, users were banned for various of reasons, which include showing content that goes against the Amazon-owned platform’s Community Guidelines, like harassment, using inappropriate account names, spam, scams, and other malicious conduct, sharing misinformation, creating sexual content, and more.
As for the latter, it's not that uncommon to see streamers get banned for creating sexual content.
In the past, a streamer was suspended for streaming explicit video where pornographic scenes were edited to make them appear "Safe for Work." Another streamer was also banned for shaving pubic hair while on livestream. Then, there was a case where a streamer was banned because of showing too much of her cleavage, and another was banned because of using shorts and T-shirt that show too much of herself, and another one who was banned after accidental nipple slip. There was also an instance where a streamer was banned because of her "over-sexual" tweets.
The list just goes on and on.
But this time, a Twitch streamer got banned, not because of suggestively creating adult content, but because she was really doing the act.
The streamer who goes with the name ‘kimmikka’, was caught seemingly trying to have stealthy sexual intercourse during a live broadcast.
The incident happened on her August 24 livestream.
It was realized that the streamer who was wearing a blue top, seemed to be up against her desk, and that the stream was taken in a rather weird angle.
Then suddenly, her facial expressions started to change.
She made a grimacing face, as if something was happening down there, off the screen.
While she was trying to be sneaky about the whole thing, and trying to do her job as a streamer, by professionally answering the chats, and even drinking beer while at it, viewers were certainly curious.
Nothing explicit whatsoever; no nudity or thrusting is seen. But if her facial expression doesn't justify what was that she was doing, her reflection should.
At the side of her desk, a glass window clearly reflected what was happening.
And if that is still not enough, at one point, her partner is even visible right behind her.
The streamer is seen talking to the person, and a man's voice could be heard responding.
The stream was soon shared to the popular Livestreamfail subreddit where it amassed thousands of views.
Twitch that was also quick, slammed down the ban hammer to the streamer, as soon as it realized what was happening.
"At Twitch, our mission is to provide the best shared social video experience created by our growing community where creators and communities can interact safely. To achieve this goal, we ask that all users participate in such a way that promotes a friendly, positive experience for our global community," said Twitch in its Community Guidelines page.
"In addition to our Terms of Service, [...] These guidelines fall under a common sense philosophy and apply to all user generated content and activity on our services."
In an interview with Jake Lucky, the streamer reportedly said that the incident was a "drunken accident," and that she ended the broadcast before things got too steamy.
The streamer Kimmikka isn't very popular.
Her account was only months old, and she only had a few hundred followers. And this incident here earned her more popularity than what she may have built in that few months.
A week later, Twitch unbanned her.
Given by Twitch’s previous record of being particularly harsh on explicit content, Kimmikka didn't receive anything permanent. So here, the ban wasn’t as severe as people had initially thought.
Despite seeming like quite a serious policy violation, the ban was lifted because no explicit content appeared on-screen, although she did engage in sexual intercourse while livestreaming.
She told me it was a drunken accident and ended stream quickly
I think something this stupid warrants a perma ban— Jake Lucky (@JakeSucky) August 25, 2022
