Bing Creates A Fans Community, And Releases Bing Entity Search API For Developers To Use

Bing is one popular search engine, and its Bing Ads business is second to only Google.

Here Bing Ads creates a community dedicated to its most enthusiastic advertisers, to help advance the platform, "build better products," "push us to be innovative" and "advocate for our tools," according to an announcement from Bing Ads Community Manager Frances Donegan-Ryan.

He said that the team is looking for active users who want to engage with the community.

To thank those that participate, fans will be eligible for some Bing Ads exclusives, including the ability to network with other globally-based search professionals, access to insider news and having the ability to report directly to Bing Ads team. They will also receive free gifts.

Those that are interested, can sign up at Bing Ads fan page by answering some questions, providing identification information that include their Account ID.

Bing also announced that its Bing Entity Search API has been made available to all users in the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Spain and UK.

Shown above, what it does is allowing developers to programmatically pull in Bing Knowledge Graph structured data on topics such as people, places, things, and local businesses, directly into their platforms and tools. This is similar to how developers can do with Google’s Knowledge Graph Search API.

This Knowledge Graph has been used in several Microsoft products, including Bing.com, Cortana, Xbox, Office, Skype and others.

So by providing developers the ability to pull in data directly from its Knowledge Graph, Bing hopes that it will help developers enhance their mobile or web applications, blogs or websites.

With a price of $3 per 1,000 transactions, developers are given a limit of 100 transactions per second through the API.
