To prevent any unauthorized access others' account, the social network Facebook has made a number of tweaks to its system in order to protect user's accounts. But since users aren't keeping up with the changes, Facebook found that there is little use in updating them.
As privacy becomes more than just a concern, the company introduces an alternative way to protect its massive number of users. The company is testing Security Checkup feature, a simple yet straightforward walkthrough for users to keep up in securing their accounts. The Privacy Basics page is another way to make sure things are protected.
In a post on May 28th, 2015, by Melissa Luu-Van, Facebook's Product Manager, she said that Security Checkup feature will make it "easier than ever to find the information you want about how we protect your account and what tools are available to you."
Keeping Facebook safe was somehow difficult to some people. With the social network increasing its features, there are more pages that users need to scan in order to find what they're looking for.
With Security Checkup, securing Facebook account should be a whole lot easier.

Rolling out gradually, the feature is a guiding users through a number of steps to improve their account's security. Updating password, double checking connected apps and devices, the ability to log out of any active Facebook session, activate login alerts, are what Facebook prompts with the feature.
Those options however, were already available to Facebook users, but with Security Checkup, they'll be a lot harder to miss.
Built upon users' feedback, the feature is in a testing phase when it's rolled out. Facebook is keeping an eye on how it performs for further improvements.
