The search giant Google thrives on information. By having its own app, Google can provide useful information to users on the go, ranging from reminders, destination to news, weather and others. But with too much information to give, the app can be rather complicated.
To counter this problem, Google updates its app to have two separate section for information cards.
What this means, instead of having a huge list of information into one scrollable page, the app is now having a "Feed" tab as default where users can see current events like sports, news and weather. The second tab is the new "Upcoming" tab that houses all personal updates such as flights, meetings and travel times.
The tabs are located at the bottom of Google Now.
This way, Google is making its app more organized. With Google having and adding a greater variety of cards, information can be lost somewhere in the feed. Furthermore, things can be more complicated with clutters from the abundance of information all put into a single place.
For users in the U.S., they also have a new set of cards that let them choose more specific topics they want to see updates from.

Rolling out slowly to Android and iOS users, some users may be happy with the change, but some probably won't.
There is no doubt that the feature is going to 'force' users to relearn how to use the app after being used to one simple feed to scroll through, but many should find it simpler to have the ability to access any information a lot faster than before.
Before releasing the feature to all users, some people have actually had this tabbed approach in the recent months as Google was testing it out from time to time.
The change is indeed small. but can give a whole new experience. And the interesting bit is that Google has decided to give the app a refresh so that it can actually become more of a one-stop place for all daily interest and events.
