The web's most fascinating text field, is arguably Google Search's search bar.

Anyone with an internet access can use Google in whatever way they can, in order to find any kinds of information, as long as the web has them. Their journey to the vast wilderness, is through the search engine's search bar, a simple search field from the outside, but an extremely complex piece of software on the inside.

For more than a long time, the search field has the fabulous auto-suggestion features, which certainly saves a lot of users' time.

It also makes it easier for users to know what they're looking for.

And after inputting their queries, Google Search has the powerful auto-correct feature, which is literally a spelling correcting feature. It's often overlooked, because Google knows when there's a typo. But for sure, this feature certainly shows the vast amount of knowledge Google has, before users even scroll down its search engine results pages.

This time, Google Search is ramping things up a bit, by introduced a way for users to check their grammar, directly from there search bar.

Powered by AI, and initially available on in English on both Google desktop and mobile, the feature allows users to see if "a phrase or sentence is written in a grammatically correct way or how to correct it, if not."

It's a pretty easy feature to use.

Users just have to enter a sentence or phrase into the text field on Google Search, followed with the word: "grammar check" or "check grammar" or "grammar checker".

Sometimes, just like Google's existing spell check, these phrases aren't even needed, if Google Search understands that users want a grammar check..

If the phrase entered is correct, Google will present a green check mark. But if not, Google will provide users with the correct option.

"You can use Google’s grammar check feature to check if a phrase or sentence is written in a grammatically correct way or how to correct it, if not," said Google on its support page.

As the tech giant of the web and beyond, Google has long offered grammar-enhancing features in its platforms such as on Gmail and Google Drive.

And the integration of this tool into Google Search certainly aligns well with the company's diverse array of offerings, which include a comprehensive dictionary tool. This convenient addition eliminates the need to open separate applications like Google Docs, sparing users from the inconvenience.

It is worth noting that many users often employ keywords rather than crafting complete sentences or grammatically precise phrases during their Google searches. The AI behind this grammar checker must adeptly discern whether a user intends to have their grammar evaluated or not, lest Search inadvertently buries the sought-after information deeper within the search results page.

The balance between accurate query handling and providing valuable grammar suggestions is an intricate challenge that Google's AI will have to master.

What's worth noting, the AI system is use may not suggest grammar that is a 100% accurate, especially if users only provided it with partial sentences.

It's also important to note that the tool may not operate if the input violates Search policies.

Google's grammar check feature is designed to refrain working if users gave it hazardous, harassing, medical, sexually explicit, terrorist-related, violent, or gory content. Furthermore, for phrases or sentences containing profanity or vulgar language, alternative sources may be necessary to ensure grammatical accuracy.
