Google's Gboard App Updates With Built-In Stickers And More Languages

Google has updated its Gboard keyboard app with some improvements and features.

The keyboard that is available as a third-party app on some smartphones, is introducing four default stickers.

The stickers were previously available but only when Allo, a chat app by Google, is also installed on the users' device.

With the update, users can use the stickers by default on Gboard. Users also have the ability to download more from the Play Store.

The company has also collaborated with Emogi to introduce animated stickers on the Gboard.

The collaboration brings more animated conversations on the keyboard. However, to use the feature, users are required to install both apps to get the customized animated Emoji on the Google keyboard.

And to improve experience, Google has also updated Gboard with custom themes.

The company has also increased the language support to 40 more languages, including Japanese. What this means, Gboard is pushing the total number of supported languages to over 120.

Previously, users had to use an alternative input method to type in Japanese and other non-Latin based languages.

But with the update, Google is integrating these languages, and is adding a large group of languages all at once.

To change languages, users need to open Gboard from the app tray, and tap on 'Languages'. Then go to 'Add keyboard' to find the language they want to use. They can also scroll through the list of languages or use the search function at the top right.

Once selected, users can select either the 12-key or QWERTY layout for the keyboard. They can also use multilingual typing if they have more than two languages enabled.
