Instagram Rolls Out A Feature That Allows Streamers To Save Live Videos For Later

Live Save

After Instagram introduced Stories, the company also added a live-streaming feature, similar to what Facebook is having.

But the problem for Instagram is that once a livestream video has finished, the video was gone and users have no way for viewing it again.

To address some streamers' concerns, Instagram is rolling out a feature that allows them to save their livestreamed videos. So once a broadcast has ended, streamers can simply click on the Save button located on the upper-right corner of the app.

While the video that was livestreamed will still disappear from Instagram itself, but with the feature, it will be saved into the streamers' mobile devices.

This way, they can repost the video back onto Instagram if they wish to do so.

The feature that is only available by the streamer, can only save a livestreamed video. So if the livestreamed video has garnered comments, likes and views, those are gone forever once the broadcast ended.

It should also be noted that streamers can only save their livestreamed video immediately after the broadcast has ended. So if they tapped the back button or close Instagram's app but forgot to tap on the Save button, the video will disappear.

These updates are available as part of Instagram version 10.12, available for users on both iOS and Android.
