The professional world can be harsh and unforgiving, presenting numerous challenges that not everyone can easily navigate.

Reasons include competition, high expectation, quick changes in trends, work-life balance, job security, as well as stress and burnout. While the environment can be harsh, those who are adaptable, resilient, and proactive in their approach can find success and fulfillment in their careers.

But that is only the beginning.

Without a adequate exposure and chance, even the most capable cannot land themselves to a proper job.

LinkedIn is the largest business and employment-focused social media platform that works through websites and mobile apps. And here, the platform is tapping into generative AI to help users get the job they deserve.

"Finding your next career opportunity can be overwhelming and time-consuming, often leaving you unsure of where to start or what to do next," said Tomer Cohen, Chief Product Officer at LinkedIn, in a LinkedIn post.

To do that, LinkedIn added the generative AI tools to help recruiters to use conversational language to search for job candidates.

LinkedIn also allows job seekers to use the AI by opening a chat window on job description, and ask whether they may be a good fit for a particular open position. Doing so will make the AI to respond about the ways their skills and experience align well, or if there are other skills they should add to their profiles to stand out.

In other words, the generative AI tool acts like a career coach, or a résumé writer, in addition to being a messaging tool to hiring managers or searching for work.

LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft, is able to tap into Copilot to make this happen.

With Microsoft's AI, LinkedIn is giving its Premium users the ability to begin their job search, with a conversational inquiry.

"To help professionals and employers thrive during these fast changing times in the workforce, we’ve been rolling out our own AI-powered enhancements, each designed to enable you to meet your aspirations by becoming more productive and successful," said LinkedIn in a website post.

Following the quick rise in Large-Language Model AI products, LinkedIn has ramped up its generative AI tools, and this time, is moving to incorporate the tech into even more of its offerings.

The changes showcase a massive push by LinkedIn to capitalize on generative AI.

The idea behind some of these AI tools is both for people to grow their skills and to apply to more jobs that closely fit their experience, rather than blasting out résumés en masse.

“We expect that you will find the most relevant job faster” using AI, says Gyanda Sachdeva, vice president of product at LinkedIn.

The résumé and cover letter writing tools were highly requested by people who had been using other LinkedIn AI products, says Sachdeva. “Whenever you apply to a job, it's going to be a different résumé and a different cover letter. And the AI can help you do that.”
