Humans get smarter the more they're exposed to information they don't know. AIs share a similar trait.
By learning from more data, and learn from mistakes, AI products become increasingly smarter, and more human. Since OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, it's clear from the start that the company aims for AGI.
And there is no better way to reach that stage, than making AI reason and think like humans.
Back in May, reports suggested that OpenAI has planned to introduce an AGI-like AI.
And this time, Sam Altman, the company’s CEO, has thrown fuel on the fire.

In a post on X, Altman uploaded an image of a strawberry plant, hinting at Project Strawberry, the codename for the plans that were leaked in May.
At the time, Project Strawberry was initially leaked as Project Q* (read: Q-Star), meant to be an AI model with significant advancements in terms of reasoning capabilities.
Nothing much was known back then.
Altman only hinted at it once, when he spoke with Bill Gates, saying that in AI, "the most important areas of progress will be around reasoning ability."
But when Altman posted the photo of a strawberry garden, the executive is like confirming that OpenAI is indeed working on ‘Project Strawberry,’ adding to several reports that seemingly confirmed this project.
At this time, it's not clear whether this Project Strawberry is a planned update for GPT-4 or a new model altogether, but what's certain, the project has an aim to improve the AI in its overall performances.
Reports suggest that Project Strawberry could make OpenAI's AI operate more independently from a human, and that it would be able to find an answer to any question but could also do follow-up research.
This would present it with a more human-like approach, rather than just giving autonomous answers.

Previously, OpenAI unveiled a GPT-4o-powered Voice Mode, which angered Scarlett Johansson.
After putting the project to a brief halt, OpenAI seemingly continued the project, but with some tweaks.
At first glance, it's already next-level.
And with Apple Intelligence is set to arrive later this 2024 for some of Apple's best iPhones and some of its other major products, OpenAI should have a big plan.
And here, Project Strawberry is a key component of OpenAI’s plan to advance ahead.
