Telegram With Anonymous Poll And The Ability To Delete Data 'Without A Trace'

Telegram

Telegram is the privacy-focused messaging app, popular among those who value their privacy.

In the past, the messaging app from Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov added features every once in a while. Telegram was a no competition to WhatsApp, and was a more niche product that appealed only certain people. But following the WhatsApp exodus, things started to change.

Telegram's popularity massively increased, and things are getting a lot busier on its side.

As more and more people are signing up on the messaging app Telegram after WhatsApp's planned data-sharing policy change, Telegram experienced seeing records number of new registration.

Then, Telegram quickly added a way for WhatsApp users to import their data to Telegram.

And this time, two more features are introduced, as the messaging app tries to make all its new (and existing) users happy and feel well at home.

First, is the ability to create polls on the messaging app.

On messaging apps, polls allow users to easily gather others' opinion.

For example, in a group chat, polls can facilitate a way for group members to make group decisions.

But for Telegram, because it focuses on privacy, it's iteration of polls is a little different.

"Polls can be anonymous and can allow for multiple votes, making them perfect for anything from choosing electing planetary governors to choosing lunch," tweeted Telegram.

The second addition, is the ability to delete their data.

In a tweet on Twitter, the messaging app said that users can delete messages, chats, call history, and groups that they created at any time.

And things are permanent when it's done.

"Deleted items completely disappear for all participants without a trace – your data is your business, and you have full control over it," Telegram explained.
