Apple acquired AuthenTec, a company that give network security, for $356 million. The biggest advantage that Apple can get from acquiring AuthenTec is e-wallet and digital fingerprint scanner. The acquisition is not a normal acquisition from Apple since the service is about "acquiring technology."
AuthenTec can be used to unlock smartphones, increase the security for online payment and mobile devices, like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
