Ever since the very first viral sex tape, the internet has seen tons of others. While lots of sex tapes exist, and that new ones are uploaded every single day, not everything can go viral.
The recipe for a viral sex tape, is the status and profile of the individual in the sex tape, and how the media and the individual perceive the sex tape after it is leaked.
Audrey Davis may not be a famous young woman per se, but her father is.
This fact makes her sex tapes meet the main ingredient for making virality on the internet.
After the videos were initially shared on Telegram Messenger, the sex tapes are then actively shared on various social media platforms, including pornographic websites.
A number of videos exist, and that they're between less than a minute, to about two minutes long.
In the videos, Audrey is seen mid-coitus with a man, missionary position, from behind, on top, and performing fellatio. In one of the videos, the man finishes on her face.
Audrey can be easily distinguished, notably through her red rose tattoo between her breasts.
Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, who is serving as the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) at Polda Metro Jaya.
He is well-known for his extensive experience in criminal investigations and has handled numerous high-profile cases, including those involving organized crime and extortion.
He said that the police have finished examining Audrey Davis, the daughter of the former vocalist of the Naif Band, David Bayu, in the leaked sex tapes that went viral on the internet.
According to his official statement, from the results of Audrey’s examination after asking Audrey 27 questions during the 3-hour examination, investigators managed to obtain new evidence from the results, include Audrey in admitting that she is the woman in the videos.
"Based on information from the examination of witness Audrey, investigators managed to obtain several new statements that will be investigated by investigators to develop the results in handling the a quo case," said the officer said.
Even so, he could not provide further details regarding the new evidence.
Unlike most other Indonesian celebrities who have had their sex tapes leaked, like Rebecca Klopper with her two sex tapes, Ariel 'Peterporn' who had his sex tapes involving two high-profile female celebrities, Gisel and her 19-second sex tape, Rinada, who was also civil servant at the time, and also Vanessa Angel, who later died in a tragic car accident, Andrey through her attorney chooses to admit to the sex tape allegation from the very beginning.
Audrey, the victim, and also the witness in this case, only submitted evidence related to the alleged case to the police which shall be investigated further by investigators.
"For now, it cannot be conveyed because it is the subject of the investigation related to the alleged criminal act that occurred, but don’t worry, we will update the developments later," he said.
He also said, that currently his party is still unable to provide further details whether the male actor in the pornographic video is the alleged first distributor of the video or not.
“Later we will update, the development of the results of the investigation that is being carried out. I guarantee that the investigation of the handling of this a quo case will run professionally, transparently and accountably,” he said again.
Initially, the police have arrested two individuals suspected of distributing the videos.
The first person, a 22-year-old man, was involved in selling the videos through Telegram and X, where as the second person, a 35-year-old man, is suspected of uploading pornographic content via social media accounts.
The two were apprehended in different locations, before they were brought to the Metro Jaya Police Detention Center.
According to the police investigation, the two suspects distributed the videos due to economic motives and as a prank.
In addition to the Audrey's sex tapes, the two men have had distributed a lot of pornographic videos featuring different individuals through their accounts, all of whom are Indonesians.
In the many videos that have been shared on their accounts, include videos of adult performers, leaked sex tapes of other celebrities, and victims of revenge porn.
Both have been named as suspects and are being detained with multiple charges, with maximum of 6 years in prison.
It's worth noting that neither of the two men were involved or performed in the video.
Audrey Davis is the daughter of David Bayu Danangjaya, or professionally known as David Naif.
The former vocalist of Naif, an Indonesian rock band, has released 9 albums in total.
Besides being a musician, David is also a model, a presenter, and also a YouTuber.
David married Shilla Delila in 1999, and the couple has two children: Audrey Davis and Jason Davis.
Audrey, the elder sibling, was born in 2000, and was raised by parents of different religions. She chose to embrace Islam, following her mother.
Despite the difference in faith, David Bayu's family is known for being very harmonious and tolerant. David, who is Christian, even occasionally participates in fasting with his wife and children.
Audrey was often featured in Naif's music videos. In addition to having a melodious voice like her father, Audrey is also skilled at playing the ukulele.
Through social media, among other things she shared, Audrey has created content where she sings while playing the ukulele.
However, despite her talents, Audrey doesn't seem interested in pursuing a serious career in music like her father.
Soon after the sex tape allegations hit, she abruptly halted her social media activities.
Following the revelation that his daughter has sex tapes leaking, Davis said that he will continue providing moral support to Audrey, who is still a witness in this case.
"Yes, the main point is to always support the child, that's all," he said.
"Follow the procedure, and basically, I leave it to Mr. Sandy (as the legal counsel)."
