Elon Musk Offers To Pay Legal Fees For 'Unfairly Treated' X Users By Their Employers

Elon Musk is not known for being a person living a lavish lifestyle. Despite worth far exceeding a hundred billion dollars, he's not that extravagant kind of person.

But he's indeed extravagant when it comes to delivering promises.

This time, Musk said in an X post, that if X users are fired over something they did on his site, the billionaire said that he has their back.

Not just talking about moral support, because Musk offers them to pay for the legal bills as well.

"If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill. No limit," he said. "Please let us know."

In other words, if ever X users got themselves into trouble for doing anything on the platform once known as Twitter, Elon Musk wants to help.

Musk knows that it's common for employees to lose their jobs after posting or visibly endorsing offensive content on social-media platforms, even though they didn't do anything controversial or related to any societal issue.

Social media posts have long been creating an environment ripe for reprimands or even termination for years. Lots of employers research employee candidates on social media, and an increasing number of people didn't get employed because of what they did on social media.

Before this, Musk, as the most-followed person on X, has been using the platform to speak just about anything.

From his companies and their progresses and projects, to his own personal thoughts and memes.

Musk has also been vocal about fighting a "woke mind virus" and committing to free speech on the site.

He did this before he bought Twitter, and shared content rallying against some causes, including transgender rights.

In a May interview, Musk, who has previously described himself as a free speech absolutist, said that he ill say what he wants to say, and "if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it."

Elon Musk, Twitter X.

To do what he said, Musk explained that the social media site "won't just sue, it will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too."

In other words, Musk suggests that he can be aggressive.

Musk however, didn't say what he considers unfair treatment.

It's worth noting that Musk kind of underestimated this.

This is because Musk's original post, which has gained tens of thousands of replies, is full of people sharing stories that would open them up for funding from X. It's literally impossible for Musk and X to get everyone and work with everyone, let alone verify the situations.
