Escobar Fold 1, The First Smartphone From Pablo Escobar's Company

04/12/2019

Escobar, Inc., the company founded by the drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, has announced its very first smartphone.

Called the Escobar Fold 1, it's a foldable smartphone that comes with the Qualcomm 8150 (Snapdragon 855). The entry-level model which comes with a $349 price tag, boasts 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM.

The pricier model, which retails at $499, has 512GB and 8GB respectively.

According to its website page, the Fold 1 uses Android 9, a 7.8" foldable display with FHD+ AMOLED panel, a dual-camera setup, dual SIM support, a MicroSD slot, a fingerprint reader, and USB-C port.

Escobar, Inc. showcased the device using some women, including Miss Playboy Russia 2017, Kristina Yakimova, in a video on YouTube.

“Imagine a reality, where you can ease fold your phone into a tablet,’’ wrote the website for the firm of Roberto Escobar, the onetime accountant for the Medellin Cartel and brother of Pablo Escobar.

“Apple Boy Steve once looked into space,” said the Fold 1 commercial, "he saw Pablo Escobar with a phone beyond anybody’s imagination."

"I have made one of the first foldable smartphones in the world," says Roberto Escobar. "Thanks to effective production and no special deals with retailers, we have been able to keep costs low as compared to other manufacturers."

"The Escobar Fold 1 is the best smartphone in the world right now," he continues, predicting that the Fold 1 will "sell out fast."

Previously, Escobar, Inc. announced that, following a $3 million lawsuit, it had secured the rights for PabloEscobar.com.

And with the Escobar brand and site, the company intended to sell “groundbreaking technology” like the notorious flamethrower which Elon Musk allegedly stole from the company.

Here, the Fold 1 appears to be the first piece of technology to come to the masses, after that lawsuit.

"I have told many people that I would beat Apple, and I will,” said Roberto Escobar. "I cut the networks and retailers to sell to customers phones that can fold for only $349, phones which in stores cost thousands of dollars by Samsung and others."

Escobar, Inc. started back in 1984, when it was merely a way for Pablo Escobar to manage and direct the vast profits gained by his illicit activities, which at one point reportedly reached $420 million a week. Since Pablo Escobar was fatally shot by the authorities in Colombia in 1993, his younger brother Roberto Escobar, held the reins of the company.
