Google Knowledge Graph is a knowledge base used by Google to enhance its search engine's search results with semantic-search information gathered from a variety of sources. It was first announced in May 16th, 2012, and was first used in the same year, starting in the U.S..
Knowledge Graph that was said to use similar answer engine that powers Ask Jeeves and Wolfram Alpha, provides structured and detailed information about the topic in addition to a list of links to other sites. The purpose is that users would be able to use this information to resolve their query without having to navigate to other sites and assemble the information themselves.
Knowledge Graph which is an integral part of Google Search, can provide answers rather than lists of links. Its database understand entities - such as topics, people, and events - and the connections among them, somewhat like the human brain.
