On Instagram, Miss Argentina And Miss Puerto Rico Revealed That They're Secretly Married

Thanks to the internet, anyone can say literally anything, from wherever they are, whenever they're ready.

And thanks to social media platforms, the world seems to become smaller, simply because anyone can reach everyone else, despite being halfway across the globe.

This time, Mariana Varela, Miss Argentina 2020, and Fabiola Valentin, Miss Puerto Rico 2020, use their respective Instagram accounts to reveal something they've kept a secret for almost two years.

The couple posted that they had tied the knot in a joint Instagram post featuring photos and video clips of their relationship.

"After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors to it on a special day. 28/10/22," the post’s caption reads.

One clip appears to be taken from the moment the couple got engaged, with “Marry Me?” spelled out in balloons as Valentin slips a ring on Varela’s finger.

Another photo shows the couple wearing white in front of the Marriage Bureau in San Juan, at the capital of Puerto Rico, where they were reportedly married.

Same-sex marriage in Puerto Rico has been legal since July 2015.

Before this, the two have been posting photos of themselves together quite frequently. However, none suggested that they're in love.

In the photos, the were showing their closeness the way BFFs would be doing, with nothing out of the ordinary.

The two were able to conceal their romantic relationship for almost two years, until finally revealing that their relationship is more than just friends.

After sharing the news, Varela thanked her fans in a comment posted on October 31, saying that they were both happy and lucky.

"I wish you that the love you are giving us will come back multiplied!" she wrote, "Infinite thanks."

Valentin also gave an update on their first days as a married couple on her November 2 in an Instagram Story, thanking those who've left them kind messages.

"This is how @marianajvarela wakes me up," Valentin wrote in Spanish, accompanied by a mug that read, "the best wife in the world."

“Thanks for all the love!” Varela wrote in reply to the well-wishes. “We are very happy and blessed.”

Following the revelation, a post on the official Miss Grand International (MGI) Instagram account congratulated the couple on their union.

“Congratulations to both of you,” the organization captioned the post, which featured a photo of the couple together as well as from their appearance in the pageant.

“MGIO always support ‘LOVE’ without boundaries.”
