On the internet, especially on social media networks, things can heat up pretty quickly.
Anything can go viral, especially when it concerns something about a popular celebrity. And that thing about a celebrity will definitely go viral if it's something the public isn't expecting it to happen.
One good example, happened when a social media model and an OnlyFans star claimed to have an affair with Adam Levine of the band Maroon 5.
Sumner Stroh made the claim on her TikTok post, by also posting a series of alleged DMs on September 19th as proof.
The native Texas, Instagram model claimed that the alleged relationship lasted for roughly a year, and that the former The Voice coach had "exploited" and "manipulated" her.
This news came just a week after Levine's wife, Namibian model Behati Prinsloo, announced that she is expecting their third child to the media.
"I'm just going to rip the Band-Aid off [...] I was having an affair with a man who's married to a Victoria's Secret model," she said, before revealing that the man was Adam Levine.
She said that the affair happened when she was younger.
"At the time, I was young and naïve. And I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited. I wasn’t in the scene like I am now, so I was definitely easily manipulated," she explained.
Stroh added that she and Levine were “seeing each other for about a year”, until the two lost contact “over a period of months.”
The influencer then revealed in her TikTok video what seemed to be Instagram direct message between her and Levine.
Stroh said that Levine sent her the direct message months after breaking up.
In it, it appeared that Levine even asked Stroh whether he can name his baby after her name, like "dead serious," Levine allegedly said.
Stroh ended the video by explaining that she only came forward after realizing that a trusted friend of hers had tried to sell the screenshots.
"I had sent some screenshots recklessly to a few friends I thought I trusted and one of them had attempted to sell to a tabloid - so here I am."
Even before Levine or his representative confirm or deny the allegation, Stroh's post quickly went viral, with millions of views in the first day being posted.
This happens because Stroh followed the proper ingredient to make a post viral.
Not to mention, the post was shared shortly after Levine and Prinsloo announced that they're expecting their third child, which means the couple is already under leveraged spotlight.
It didn't take long until Adam Levine broke his silence in a statement posted to social media.
"A lot is being said about me and want to clear the air," he said on an Instagram post.
"I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances, it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family."
"My wife and my family is all I care about in this world," Adam continued in his statement. "To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make."
"I will never make it again," he again added. "I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together."
In a separate TikTok video, seemingly responding to Levine, Stroh said that she wanted to apologize to Prinsloo and the couple's children.
"In retrospect, I wish I would've questioned things more, I wish I wasn't so naïve but being naïve is not an excuse for what I did and the role I played in this," she explained in the Sept. 20 post. "Again, in no way was I trying to gain sympathy and I fully realize I'm not the victim in this. I'm not the one who's really getting hurt here, it's Behati and her children and for that I'm so, so sorry."
Sooner than later, people started searching for her name online, on both search engine and social media platforms.
Obviously, this benefits the 23-year-old Stroh, as she's an influencer herself.
Adam Levine as the frontman of Maroon 5, first met his then-wife Prinsloo, in 2012 through a mutual friend over email.
Prinsloo herself, was born in Grootfontein, Namibia, then part of South West Africa, when her father was contracted to work in the region before she was born. Prinsloo grew up in Africa, but was educated in English. She became a model after someone she met at the grocery store offered her a chance to become one.
"We went to the grocery store after church and this guy came up to me and asked if I was a model and wrote his number on a piece of paper [...] ," she said.
At this time, Prinsloo has two daughters together with Levine: Dusty Rose, and Gio Grace.
It's worth noting that moments after Stroh's claim went viral, people started blaming her, calling her a homewrecker and sorts. .
But apparently, Stroh wasn't the first, and the last.
One by one, in a #MeToo-like campaign, women started coming forward to say that they too had received inappropriate flirts from the star.
