Most forums have rank and reputation points. These are received from how many posts a member have and how many valid contributed answers, helps and respected posts he/she have on the forum. Getting these reputations and rank can help you get trusts from fellow members. But again some people abuse these. To know which member is really respected in a forum, members usually browse through the intended member's posts and decide whether he/she can be trusted or not. Therefore, posting spams to get more post counts or abuse the forum to get rank and reputation points aren't the best practice to get a real respect from members. And with the lack of trust from the members, you may not have a chance to promote your business anymore. And once again, moderators might also ban you for doing so.
