GitHub is one popular web-based hosting service for version control using git.
After a year launching GitHub Marketplace, the developer-focused app store has attracted many big products.
And to celebrate its anniversary, it's opening itself up for more developers. What this means, GitHub Marketplace is allowing more developers to list their app on the marketplace, for free.
The goal of Marketplace, "was to create a single destination for our community to discover the apps and services they need without setting up multiple accounts or payment methods."
From Travis CI to BackHub and Microsoft, GitHub Marketplace is helping developers build apps, and help their business grow.
The Marketplace boasts 100,000 users and 50 different tools. All of them are designed to help developers improve their workflow.
Opening the Marketplace for more people means that GitHub is expecting those numbers to grow. All that should give GitHub a competitive advantage over rivals.
"We’ve added features like analytics, product placement, and account support," said GitHub on its blog post.

Previously, GitHub Marketplace started allowing users to use the platform without having to wait for manual approval.
It has also introduced free trials for paid applications, allowing developers to use paid apps for 14 days free of charge. According to GitHub, this strategy has increased developers' revenue by a massive 43 percent. Free trials account to more than 60 percent of the marketplace's overall revenue.
"One year is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what you build next," closes GitHub.
