Amid Twitter Fiasco And Transition, Google Creates A 'Mastodon' Account

Elon Musk, the billionaire and serial entrepreneur, is the richest man on Earth, and that he has acquired Twitter.

Following his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter and becoming the "Chief Twit" of the company, the billionaire made a series of changes.

This includes the reinstatement of Kanye West's account, and former U.S. President Donald Trump's account.

While Musk certainly has lots of fans and followers who would do anything to support his idea, many others don't.

Amid the fiasco, Mastodon stood up.

While the open-sourced and decentralized Twitter alternative is seeing the exodus of Twitter users, Google, the tech giant, is also creating an official presence there.

But not a full presence, or at least yet.

For many years, Google has been using Twitter as a place for its Google Search Liaison.

The official account is meant for the company' search engine liaison, which provides insight and suggestion, and also news about Google Search's algorithms and best practices.

And this time, when Twitter is transitioning under its new ruler, Google is making a presence on the Twitter competitor.

The company has started making posts from a Mastodon account that belongs to Google.

Initially, it isn't clear whether Google is making its debut on Mastodon as a Twitter getaway, or not, but what's certain, Google is using both platforms for its liaison.

While the company may be concerned about Twitter imploding, Google is not moving away from Twitter, or at least yet.

At this time, Google Search Liaison on Twitter has updated its bio section to include a link to its Google Search Liaison on Mastodon

As a tech company, Google certainly has keen eyes to catch onto current trends.

Google has accounts on various online platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. But nonetheless, Google does not use those two accounts quite often.

Google and lots of its products and services are a lot more active on Twitter than it is on anywhere else.

During this time of uncertainty, the time Elon Musk is preparing for his Twitter 2.0 vision, it's obvious that Google and other tech giants need their presence on Twitter alternatives, especially if Twitter begins to bleeding users.

And by seeing Google on Mastodon, this shows that Google believes to a certain degree, that Mastodon is a worthy platform to be with.

Google, the multi-billion-dollar company, in establishing an official presence on Mastodon is certainly an encouragement for other Mastodon users and Mastodon itself.

At this time around, Mastodon's usage has risen exponentially, by the time it crossed two million active monthly users.
