'Shalom' As Kanye West's Twitter Account Reinstated By Elon Musk

Owning something means that the owner can do many things his or her heart desires.

Elon Musk, the eccentric tech entrepreneur and billionaire, has brought a kitchen sink to Twitter's headquarters. And upon becoming its "Chief Twit" and finalizing his acquisition, Musk literally owns the microblogging platform.

And with that, Musk has the capacity to make new policies, including reinstating those who have been banned.

Soon after reinstating the Twitter account of former U.S. President Donald Trump, Musk made another significant move, in which he is also reinstating Ye, the rapper best known as Kanye West.

West has been embroiled in controversy over his anti-Semitic comments.

And here, he is returning to Twitter after a roughly two-week break.

At first, the celebrity started by creating a test tweet.

"Don’t kill what ye hate. Save what ye love," Musk responded.

After realizing that Twitter is indeed reinstating him, to break up the his long silence, he tweeted the word "shalom".

The word is often used by Jewish people as a greeting and parting salutation.

Shalom can also refer to peace between two entities in Hebrew, hoping for the well-being, welfare or safety of an individual or a group of individuals.

So what Ye is trying to say here is that, he doesn't want to pick a fight anymore.

Restrictions on Ye’s account were lifted in late October.

His account was locked because of anti-Semitic posts, including one where Ye said he would "go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE."

Before his return, Ye’s made several posts, including a picture of basketball star Kyrie Irving, who has apologized for sharing a documentary that includes widely criticized anti-Semitic conspiracies, a move that led to him being suspended.

Ye also declared that he was taking a "30 day cleanse" to refrain from alcohol, sexual intercourse and adult films as well as a "verbal fast."

"I’m not talking to nooobody for a month," he tweeted, adding that his "Twitter still lit."

Ever since Musk acquired Twitter, the eccentric entrepreneur has faced near-constant criticisms.

From his decision to fire most of its senior leadership and employees, overhauled the platform’s subscription and verification system and announced a number of changes to its moderation, not many people are happy.

But judging by the rate Twitter is adding and dropping features, it's certain that Twitter is still evolving with its new ruler, and that Musk is still testing the waters as Twitter's new ruler.

In response to West's return, Israel's official Twitter had something to say.

"We would very much like to be excluded from this narrative," the tweet says, in which Musk commented on the Israeli tweet, saying that "Your tweets are good! More countries should tweet like this. No fun being all stuffy."
