Man From India Died From His Injury After Performing A Backflip For TikTok

A backflip, or a somersault, is an acrobatic move in which a person's body rotates 360° with his/her feet passing over the head.

Usually and also traditionally seen In competitive gymnastics and trampolining, somersault can be performed by anyone. But the move that requires certain aspect of speed, agility and flexibility, as well as timing, means that not everyone can perform it perfectly.

This time, a 23-year-old man from Godekere in Tumakuru District, India, broke his neck after attempting a somersault to be filmed for TikTok.

Kumar, a singer and a dancer of an orchestra, was unfortunate that he lost his balance and failed performing the stunt at a school ground on June 18.

Not only that Kamar broke his neck, as the fall also injured his spinal cord, rendering him paralyzed.

Not long after the incident, Kamar died as he succumbed to his injuries.

Kamar died when his body didn't respond to any of the treatments given to him at the Victoria hospital in Bengaluru.

Kamar's injuries stemmed from the damaged spine near his neck, the police confirmed.

The video of Kumar doing the stunt was viral and widely shared on social media platforms.

The video was shared not long before the Madras High Court banned TikTok on a petition which contended that pornographic contents were uploaded on it.

However, the ban was later revoked by the Court with a caveat that if any "controversial video violating this condition were found on the app, it would be considered a contempt of court."
