A rare check dated 11 March 1988, signed by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs to his girlfriend Tina Redse went on auction.
With the written amount of $2,000 to Redse, singed ''Steven Jobs'' on the signature line, the check was written when Jobs was launching NeXT, and also during his tumultuous relationship with Redse.
Measuring at 6'' x 2.75'', the check also has Jobs' phone number and address.
The auction that was organized by Nate D. Sanders Auctions, and had a minimum bid of $20,000, before it ended on February 22, 2018.
Steve Jobs met Tina Redse in the early 1980s, and dated her until meeting his wife Laurene Powell Jobs.
Redse was the person that accompanied Jobs to the Super Bowl where the Macintosh commercial screened, and later traveled to Europe with Jobs when he was being ousted from Apple.
The two dated for four years, with on-and-off relationship in which she lived part of the time in Jobs’ sparsely decorated Woodside home. The couple eventually ended their relationship in 1989. At the time, they discussed the possibility of getting married, in which Redse reportedly turned down Jobs' marriage proposal.
