In Islam, women who wear the hijab have certain responsibilities and guidelines to follow.
The purpose is to express modesty, piety, and submission to God’s will. It serves as a barrier or partition between the individual and the outside world, emphasizing inner qualities over physical appearance.
By covering their body and hair from the sight of non-mahram men (those with whom she is not having any family relationship, or can legally marry, but not yet married to), the women do this to prevent sexual desires to spark between them, suppressing lust.
Oklin Fia, an Indonesian selebgram found herself embroiled in a viral controversy due to the content she uploaded to Instagram.
For starters, Oklin is a woman who wears hijab, and that the public expects her to adhere to the Islamic guidelines. While she does cover her body and hair, she does so by wearing skin-tight clothes, revealing her figure and the shape of her breasts.
Then, things got worse for her.
The woman who wears hijab is seen licking an ice cream bar.
Nothing wrong, but the context is different.
In the video she created by imitating content from Western Instagram influencers, she is involved in the act of licking the ice cream bar, vulgarly.
The video starts when a man seen holding a ice cream, asking if she wants it.
She said no.
He asked her once more, and again she said no.
Then, for the third time, the man asked her if she wants the ice cream, but by putting it right in front of his trousers, as if the ice cream bar was his penis.
Oklin, without hesitation, is then seen down on her knees, and then licking the 'shaft' of the ice cream, performing fellatio to it with pleasure.
She did this while staring at the camera.
The video sparked outrage and accusations of indecency and blasphemy.
She faced criticism and backlash from the public, the moment she uploaded the video to her account.
Following the uproar, the police was called to investigate, where they focus on
Oklin Fia made the video voluntarily, without any external pressure.
She created the video alongside a male companion, who was also featured in the content.
Hijab is not meant to draw attention to physical attractiveness or sensuality, and because of that, trying to be sexy and alluring contradicts her purpose for wearing the hijab.
Oklin later issued an apology, expressing regret for the video’s impact.
She revealed that the controversy caused her trauma due to the intense criticism and online attacks.
She also visited the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to apologize and promised not to repeat such content.
"Once again, I humbly apologize to the entire Indonesian community, especially to my Muslim brothers and sisters, for the inappropriate content I have created," Oklin said in an apology through her Instagram post.
"I deeply regret this lapse in judgment and promise not to repeat it. Moving forward, I am committed to improving my content to be better. I will continue to learn to contribute positively to all Indonesian society. Thank you for your understanding."
"Since I was a child, my mother has taught me about Islam, to be a good and righteous Muslimah. I have also made it a habit to cover my aurat and wear the hijab, even long before I started creating content. I admit that at my young age, I have often made mistakes. I regret my actions, and I promise not to repeat them," concluded Oklin.
Oklin has removed the original video from her account.
But again, just like pretty much everything else that came before it, the video is still being shared on the web.
It's worth noting that the ice cream fellating wasn't her first video that showed her fellating. Before, she also had fellated another ice cream, a banana, and also a sausage.
